I'm currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at UEF's Department of Technical Physics in Kuopio, where I have a flexible remote working schedule (mostly dependent on the needs of my students). My weekends are generally pretty free, and with a little advance planning I can often schedule dog walks, daycare, and more during the working week too.

I volunteered as a dog walker at Mikkelin Eläinsuojeluyhdistus during most of my PhD, and I did 9 months of kotihoito for two big, animal-aggressive, sweet and derpy and difficult Russian wolfhounds (borzoi). I have a lot of experience with large, troublesome dogs, but I adore them all (cats and other pets too!)

My first two degrees were in biology, and I worked for 10+ years in pet stores in the USA. I first volunteered with the American SPCA when I was 7 years old, so I'm a lifelong animal person. If you've got a particularly difficult dog and you'd like some references, I have many.

I'm hoping to adopt my own shelter mutt one of these days, but for now I've really enjoyed taking care of my clients' pets through Pawshake 🐾
